17 Blogging Tips to Help You From Start to Finish

THE IDEA:
*Caveat* The best thing for you to write about is whatever you would like to write about. That said, here are my tips for idea generation and what draws in readers.
1)    Think about what you are an expert or have experience in
2)    Write posts related to a niche audience at first
        ·     Frankly, I usually don’t follow this tip but, in my experience, more niche posts (like my college
        tips posts) attract more views
3)    Don’t wait until you have time to write a post to write down the idea for the post
        ·      Extra tip: start a note in your notes app to write down your ideas wherever you go

THE TITLE:
1)    Phrase the title in terms of "you" & "yours” instead of "I"& "mine"
        ·      and yes, if you look back on my older posts you can see several posts before I learned this
2)    Quantify, quantify, quantify

Example:
Title before these tips: “My Favorite Life Hacks”
Title after these tips: “17 Life Hacks to Make Your Life Easier”
Which title are you clicking on?

THE POST:
1)    Use Word or a similar program to check for spelling, grammar, etc.
        ·      These programs highlight a lot of mistakes blogging platforms miss
2)    Use less wordsuse more formatting
3)    Get straight to the point
4)    Link other relevant posts at the bottom to guide viewers where to look next
5)    Make it easy
        ·      Include links, visuals, and other media as often as possible
6)   Keep your fonts consistent (my favorite is Trebuchet which is used in this post)
7)   Throw in more than the reader is expecting
        ·    Extra tips, information, pictures, resources, etc.

THE PHOTOS:
1)    Create a cover photo with a simple background image and an easy-to-read title
        ·   Extra tip: use Snapchat to put the text on the image
        ·      Share this on social media like Pinterest
2)    You don’t need to buy a fancy camera- a good iPhone photo works just fine
3)    Keep in mind theses 3 principle
        ·      Simple yet eye-catching
        ·      Colorful and energetic
        ·      Relevant and intentional
4)   Present the photos as large as possible within the post

THE DISTRIBUTION:
1)    Use Pinterest to share your new posts
        ·      Every time some repins it, they’re creating exposure for you, and you get the satisfaction of
        watching people enjoy your content
2)    Use tags!
3)    Link new posts at the bottom of previous related posts
4)    Engage with your viewers every chance you get

Now I am going to follow my own advice, and link some posts I feel exemplify these tips:
